Grace & Tom

Grace and Tom’s wedding was an extra special one for us as they are friends as well as clients.  It’s obvious that they are a beautiful couple and their wedding day was filled with love and joy!  We asked Grace about her wedding experience.

How was your experience working with D’nM Wedding Films?
Working with D’nM Wedding Films was so much fun! They made us feel relaxed on the day, it was as if they weren’t even there. They gave us a good amount of direction, but still let everything happen naturally. They captured so many beautiful moments, even ones that I don’t remember happening!

Why was video important to you?
Having a video of our wedding day was so important because it captured the day in a way that photos never could. It is also something that we will watch every year on our anniversary and one day show our children and grandchildren!

Why did you choose D’nM?
The team very approachable and friendly, and it was easy to see that they would create something beautiful for us.

How were the team on your wedding day?
They were awesome, organised, professional, relaxed and fun! Couldn’t have been better!

Tell us about choosing your wedding dress.
Choosing my wedding dress was so much fun and such a special thing to have done with my mum! I had always loved the dresses by Grace Loves Lace, so when they had a special event on, Mum and I booked flights to QLD so we could attend. The line was full of hundreds of bride-to-be’s and everyone was very excited. We had lots of fun trying on different dresses until I finally found the dress I ended up choosing. I actually didn’t like it on the rack but mum encouraged me to try it on, and when I did, I fell in love! I basically wore it for the next hour just walking around in it. Mum and I were the last people at the event and we enjoyed a glass of bubbly with the amazing girls from GLL to celebrate!

Tell us about other suppliers that you loved working with.
The girls at The Grange, our reception venue, were so amazing. They went above and beyond to make the day perfect, and were more than happy to answer all my questions! They stayed late the night before to help us set up and provided very professional service on the day.

Petals and Leaves, our florist, was so helpful when it came to helping me put together the bouquet that I was imagining. I was so in love with our wedding flowers, they did an amazing job!

The guys from PA Hire Sydney were so organised and took care of all the sound system stuff, we didn’t have to worry about a thing!

A friend of mine, The Buttercream Baker, made the most beautiful cake that I have ever seen. She was so helpful, gave me heaps of ideas, and created the cake exactly as I had envisioned. And it tasted delicious!

What were your favourite moments from your wedding day?
The whole day was a dream! But a few favourites:

1. It was so special to have all our loved ones together for the day
2. I loved when Tom surprised me during the ceremony by singing the song he had secretly written for me!
3. Our first kiss as a married couple was pretty awesome
4. Getting driven in the wedding cars that Tom’s Pop had restored
5. Wedding cake!!!
6.We loved dancing the night away with all our family and friends
7. We loved ending the night with a sparkler exit

Why did you choose your location / venues?
Our ceremony was at Fagan Park in Galston, which is one of the most beautiful parks in Sydney. We held the ceremony in a spot that we had frequently picnic’d at while we were dating, so it was a very special spot for us.

We chose The Grange for our reception. We loved how flexible they were, how happy they were to help out in whatever way possible, and the venue was a beautiful blank canvas that we could make our own. Plus, we knew the food would be awesome!

What advice would you give to couples planning their wedding?
Enjoy being engaged and planning your wedding, it really will be the happiest day of your life! It can be stressful and hard to make everyone happy, but just remember what the day is really about – celebrating your love and commitment to each other.

Also, the day goes soo fast. Make sure you have a moment to take it all in!
